Do you need an accountant?

Probably. You might need to minimise your tax liability (pay less!) or you might need help with your returns. As accountants, we know the easiest, quickest and cheapest options for your business, whether a sole trader, limited company or partnership.

It doesn't matter if you are a start-up or well-established. We will have a service for you. We don't believe in working on an hourly basis. The price we quote includes support throughout the year and not just for an hour you have paid for. Our ethos is to provide the best service we possibly can at the most transparent price.

If you're not sure what you need, or you just want some advice and guidance, give us a call. It's important that we want to work with each other and like each other, as this is the start of a long term relationship.

Limited Companies

Limited companies need to file annual accounts and a tax return, with HMRC and Companies' House. This is the law.

We'll spend time with you to make sure your accounts are accurate and aim to complete them in 2-3 weeks. This timescale is fairly rare in our industry, but is to your benefit because the sooner you know what your liability is (the amount you need to pay HMRC), the sooner you can budget for that.

We'll help you understand your accounts and the implications of them, to help you move your business forward.

Self-Assessment

All directors, self-employed people, partners, high earners, and landlords need, by law, to complete and return a self-assessment each year. You can do this yourself, of course, but the benefit of having us do this for you is that we ensure you are compliant with HMRC's regulations (which isn't always as straight forward as one might hope!) and take the pain away from you so you know it has been done correctly.

Making sure you understand why you are paying what you're paying, is what we do. The more you understand, the better your future will be as you won't get caught heading down the wrong path, or stuck in an HMRC black hole!

VAT

Do you know what you can and can't claim on your VAT return?

Are you paying too much?

We can advise you, in simple language, what you can and can't do, so you stay on the right side of HMRC. We can also make suggestions as to what your best course of action is for each subsequent quarter, in order to be more VAT efficient (and pay less!).

Auto-Enrolment

It's coming, so you can't avoid it! In fact, it's already here for some sizes of business.

It seems to be something that terrifies a lot of business, but you don't need to worry. We can service your minimum 1% employer and employee contributions and advise you of what to pay. We'll make sure that you are only paying for eligible employees, and don't get caught up in a web of confusion or non-compliance.

Cash Flow Forecasting

Banks will often require cash flow forecasts if you want to borrow money.

We can help with this, but we can help with more than that. In order to get your funds in the most efficient way, we will look at your income, expenditure, and day-to-day cash flow to see if there are other more cost effective ways to get access to funds other than just going to the bank to borrow, such as making some small changes to your credit terms and credit control.
